The main responsibility of Keelung Detention Center is to prevent defendants from absconding, annihilating any evidences, making collusions and hence criminal cases could proceed successfully.
The object of inmates in Keelung Detention Center including:
1. Keelung Detention Center: Admitting the defendants of criminal case from Keelung District Court and Prosecutors Office.
2. The branch of Taiwan Keelung Prison: Executing the prison term (mainly within 6 months) of inmates that are adjudicated by Keelung District Prosecutors Office.
3. The executing, guidance of survey classification, identification, case investigation, and psychological tests.
4. The executing, guidance of survey classification, identification, case investigation, and psychological tests.
5. The executing, guidance of guard safety and management systems.
6. The executing, guidance on rehab observation and forced institutionalization related matters.
7. Other matters concerning integrated planning.
