In order to strengthen the inmates' understanding of restorative justice, the Institute will hold a special course on restorative justice on the morning of March 8, 2022, and invite Ms. Jian Huifei, director of the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office, to give a lecture.

Director Jian's guardian first breaks the question from "forgiveness", and through the video, brings out the important concept of restorative justice - through the voluntary face-to-face expression of the victimization experience by the perpetrator and the victim, the perpetrator shows sincerity, admits his own behavior, and is willing to Taking responsibility, and then compensating for damage and repairing relationships through mutual empathy, which is different from the traditional punishment of conviction and punishment.

With the existing judicial system, there is no way to completely make up for the antagonism and rupture of the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. The victim has no way to recover from the psychological trauma through the judicial system, and the perpetrator has no way to truly integrate into the society and become a new person through the judicial system. Therefore, the Ministry of Justice will try to By means of restorative justice, it is hoped that the dilemma of the current justice can be resolved. The lecture was attended by 20 staff members and 32 inmates.
